I think it''s time we laid down some rules regarding our TeamSpeak server, especially now that it is public. Please remember that anything any one of our clan members says or does is representative of our clan as a whole. We would hate to lose a potential recruit just because he tryed out our TeamSpeak server and didn''t like what they heard or thought it was immature. Even worse, we would hate to lose one of the great people that have become one of our clan brotherhood due to a personality conflict with another clan member. That being said, let me suggest some rules for our Teamspeak server, and also for our ranked game server as well. I encourage you to discuss and share your opinions on these rules so that we can come to a consensus and quickly get these rules in place and start enforcing them.
1. Put forth a positive "vibe", especially in the public areas.
2. Setting your TeamSpeak for push-to-talk is mandatory.
3. Remember that you do not need to broadcast everything you say while playing the game. I''m sure most of us yell, scream like little girls, and curse our deaths regularly while playing the game (I know I do), but please consider not broadcasting all of this on TeamSpeak. A SMALL amount of this is acceptable, and even adds to the fun of playing at times, but when there is a lot of people talking, little things like this just create chaos. Singing, cursing every time you are killed, etc should NOT be broadcast in a public channel. Ever. You have been provided channels on the server for music, singing, goofing off with clan mates, venting your frustrations, etc. Use them.
4. If you don''t have anything nice to say, don''t say anything at all. Do I sound like your mom now? :) This goes for fellow clan mates as well as guests to our public server. Harassing someone, calling them a noob, accusing them of hacking, or cursing at them will not be tolerated. This also goes for in-game messages as well as TeamSpeak. This is not to say that we will never have arguments or disagreements, but they need to be handled in a mature, professional manner. If you are having a problem with someone, please let an admin or your recruitment sponsor know and let them deal with it. If there is not an admin online, please ingore or mute the person you are having a problem with and notify an admin at a later time, or consider leaving the server for the night. If the problem is with a fellow clan member, please consider moving to a non-public channel where the two of you can work it out in a mature manner in private. If you are not able to work it out amongst yourselves, or if one or both of you do not wish to deal with the other, then please ignore or mute the person until the issue can be resolved by an admin or your recruitment sponsor. Conflicts and drama should be kept isolated as much as possible so that two people having an issue does not cause everyone else to have a bad night. Under no circumstances should this kind of thing occur in a public TeamSpeak channel or in the in-game chat!
5. We are not going to be kicking everyone that you don''t like from our game server. Kicks should only be done in extreme cases, such as the hotel wall glitch, excessive teamkilling or forced teamkills, excessive harrasament, etc. We will not be kicking people for tank whoring, killing you alot, or probably even cartillery. If a warning will suffice, then that is what should be used. Personally, I suggest 2 warnings before kicking, and even then only in extreme cases.
6. If all else fails, use your common sense.
The gist of what what we are trying to accomplish here is to provide a drama-free, mature, and most of all fun and friendly environment for clan members and guests. We cannot allow one or two people to ruin the experience for the other 20 or so people playing the game on our server, or for fellow clanmates. Everyone can, and will, have their bad days, and we will deal with that and move on, but anyone who is consistently breaking the rules or causing a problem will be warned or possibly asked to leave the clan.
Please let me know what you think. Is there anything we need to add to this? Anything you don''t like that needs to be changed?
Please let us know, because we are hoping to have some rules and guidelines locked down very soon, and then we will begin enforcing them.
Remember, we''re all in this to have fun and make some friends. See you on the battlefield my brothers. :)"
